Which heart is best for a first piercing?
A small one. Tessa Heart CZ and Polly Heart are 4mm; Nora at 7mm is still small. All of them are made to ASTM F2923-20, the US children's jewelry standard, and fifteen are sold as kids' styles.
How long is the post?
7mm on fourteen of the sixteen. The two Candy Heart Lux are 5mm, a shorter post for a thinner lobe. All are 20G (0.8mm).
Can they be worn in the pool?
All of them are rated waterproof — shower, pool, ocean and sweat. That is the argument for 316L steel on an earring a child will not take out.
Do the colours come in gold or silver?
Some do, some are colour only. Nora Heart White comes in gold and silver, and Tessa and Millie in both metals. The purple, pink and red Noras are enamel rather than a metal tone, so there is no metal choice there.
